Bengaluru: Wipro has announced the appointment of Omkar Nisal as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), effective immediately. He has been associated with the company since 2012. In his new role, Nisal will report to Wipro CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia. Additionally, he will also become a member of the Wipro executive board. He succeeds Pierre Bruno, who has been instrumental in strengthening Wipro’s European market position over the past four years. Bruno will now support the leadership transition over the coming months.
During his previous stint with Wipro, Nisal spearheaded Wipro’s banking-EMEA business, working with big financial institutions across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He has also served as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, managing a regional P&L (profit and loss) of over a billion dollars.
Based in London, Nisal aims to drive Wipro’s European growth by leveraging his deep understanding of the market’s dynamics. Under his leadership, the company seeks to strengthen its presence and deliver robust outcomes for clients.
Nisal’s strategic vision and a strong understanding of the European market dynamics are expected to play a pivotal role in Wipro’s growth and expansion. With a strong customer-centric approach, he will support the company in building a resilient and adaptable organization for sustainable growth in the region.
Wipro views Europe as a key growth market and is prioritizing strategic investments to solidify its foothold. Nisal’s appointment aligns with this vision, as the company seeks to expand its regional presence and bolster client partnerships.
