Modinagar: DP World Rail Logistics Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Rajesh Kumar Mohapatra as Director–Rail & Inland Terminal Vertical. In this role, he will oversee DP World’s rail and inland terminal operations, focusing on strategic growth, operational excellence, and logistics optimization across multiple locations. With extensive expertise in supply chain management, business development, and end-to-end freight operations, he is set to drive transformative initiatives in India’s rail logistics sector.
Prior to this appointment, Mohapatra served as the Business Unit Head at DP World’s Panipat operations, where he played a crucial role in streamlining logistics transformation and enhancing operational strategies for three years. His leadership contributed to improving freight movement efficiency, managing inland container depots, and strengthening intermodal connectivity. With over two decades of experience in the logistics sector, Mohapatra has held key positions at leading organizations. Before joining DP World, he spent more than 12 years at International Cargo Terminals & Rail Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. As General Manager – Rail Operations Head (PAN India), he led nationwide rail logistics operations and played a pivotal role in expanding Delhi International Cargo Terminal (ICD Sonepat). Earlier, as AGM – Regional Rail Head, he managed logistics operations across Southern, Eastern, and Central India, focusing on rail freight corridor expansion and optimizing cargo movement.
His career also includes serving as Branch Head of Orissa at Brink’s Arya India Pvt. Ltd., where he managed regional logistics operations and spearheaded business expansion for seven years. Before that, he worked at Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. as Manager – Finance & Administration, overseeing financial operations and administrative management.
Mohapatra holds an MBA in Finance & Marketing from the Regional College of Management and an LLB from Utkal University. His strong academic foundation, combined with extensive industry experience, positions him well to lead DP World’s rail and inland logistics initiatives.
