New Delhi: Tata Consumer Products has appointed Rajesh Gopal as its Global Chief Digital Officer. He will lead the company’s digital transformation efforts, focusing on technology-driven growth strategies.
Extensive Experience in Digital Leadership
Before joining Tata Consumer Products, Gopal served as Chief Information Officer – APAC at Kimberly-Clark. He has also held leadership roles at Unilever, L’Oréal, ITC Limited, and i2 Technologies, where he worked on digital innovation, e-commerce expansion, and business transformation.
His appointment comes at a time when Tata Consumer is expanding its digital capabilities to enhance operations and consumer engagement. His expertise in integrating technology with business strategies is expected to support the company’s digital initiatives.
Tata Consumer’s Expanding Portfolio
Tata Consumer Products, formerly Tata Global Beverages, has a significant presence in the tea industry, producing around 7 crore kilograms of tea annually. It operates 51 tea estates in India and Sri Lanka and employs approximately 59,000 people. The company has a global footprint in 50 countries, with a focus on branded beverages, including tea and coffee.
The company has been strengthening its digital and e-commerce strategies in response to changing consumer behavior. Gopal’s appointment signals a push toward enhancing digital capabilities in product distribution and customer engagement.
