Noida: Sanjiv Kumar Singh is set to take charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL). His name has been recommended for the role by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Panel. Sanjiv is currently serving as the Director of Mining at HCL. His term at the organization will continue till June 30, 2026.
Sanjiv brings extensive experience of more than three decades in mine planning and design. His expertise lies in preparing Mine Development Operator (MDO) documents and conducting cost estimates. During his tenure as the Director (Mining) at HCL, he facilitated the reopening of dormant mines, highlighting his commitment to operational optimization and sustainability. Additionally, he also initiated the use of emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency at HCL.
Sanjiv began his professional journey with Coal India Limited, serving in key leadership roles including Senior Executive Engineer. He then moved to NTPC Limited and worked in positions such as Additional General Manager and General Manager. After a fourteen-year stint with NTPC, Sanjiv joined HCL in March 2022.
Sanjiv has a B. Tech in Mining Engineering and an M. Tech in Opencast Mining from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Additionally, he has an MBA in Finance from BIT Mesra.
